The Second Transnational Project Meeting of the LIF-T Project Took Place in Helsinki

At the end of last week, an IEPS representative visited Helsinki, Finland, to attend the second transnational project meeting of the Erasmus+ project LIF-T: Landscape in Focus. The meeting was hosted by Suomen maisema-arkkitehtiliitto ry MARK and the Kone Foundation at the premises of contemporary Oodi Helsinki Central Library and the charming Lauttasaari Manor. During the meeting, the project consortium primarily discussed the case studies they have been working on over the past few months. They also uncovered initial insights to shape a toolkit designed to help small municipalities address socio-economic and climate challenges using nature-based landscape solutions. Besides that, the consortium covered reporting and dissemination issues and enjoyed excursions to landscape sites, including the developing Kalasatama waterfront district that was formerly a fishing port although now features a mix of industrial areas, sports venues, office buildings, parks, and the Redi shopping centre. The partners will meet again in person in November in Nitra, Slovakia. We will keep you updated on our next steps.

Visiting a secondary school in Dublin and testing games for pupils

On 18th and 19th April we had another project meeting within the YoungLEAD project, this time in Dublin, Ireland, at De La Salle College (https://www.delasallecollege.com/). The meeting was attended by a representative from IEPS, teachers from Štrossmayerovo náměstí Primary School and other project partners and teachers from Spain and Ireland. During the meeting we tested some of the soft skills games for students, which are part of the first output "Leadership skills games for students", which we are now finalising and will later be part of the project's learning platform. We also agreed with partners to test the games with students, and to share them in our group. We have also finalised another deliverable here, which is the Methodic Guide for teachers. This is still in English and now remains to be translated. We also had the opportunity to tour the school, see the students' involvement in the lessons, and learn from the headteacher, Siobhan Foster, all the details of how the school works. We also learnt a lot of information about the Irish school education system. It was very interesting to hear how the different school systems in the Czech Republic and Ireland differ. De La Salle College is a predominantly boys' secondary school with approximately 380 students and 30 staff and is an inclusive school with the aim of educating each
